KES Breakfast
Program
Volunteers are always needed to help with early morning breakfast
service for our keiki who arrive on campus very early at the
elementary school. If you have time in the mornings, this may
be the place for you.
KES Book Fair
Kamehameha Elementary School's Book Fair is among the largest
in the nation and is an event you won't want to miss. The entire
event depends on a small army of volunteer parents to make this
event successful. All families are invited to participate even
if you are not a KES parent.
KMS - Back to School Day
Back-to- School Day at Kamehameha Middle School is held in the
first trimester of each school year and is the middle school's
open house for parents. This program has been an annual event
since 1972. Each year over 90% of our parents participate. We
set aside two consecutive days in the school year for this event.
On each of these days attendance is mandatory for half our 7th
and 8th grade student body. Students are invited to bring one
parent, guardian or sponsor to school for the day. Parents will
accompany their son or daughter to all classes and take part
in all class activities.
KMS Parent to Parent Sessions
Parent to Parent Sessions at Kamehameha Middle School are held
once per trimester and is an opportunity for parents to learn
about issues affecting their developing teen. The sessions are
divided into two sections; information and learning from guest
speakers and "talk story time" with other parents where parent
questions are addressed and discussed.
KHS Open House
The Kamehameha Open House is held at the beginning of each school
year for all parents of students in grades 9-12. This is an
opportunity to meet your high schooler's teachers, learn about
class expectations and ask questions you may have about the
available programs. Though this is not a time to have personal
parent-teacher conferences, it is the best way to know what
to expect each school year.
Parent Workshops
Various workshop opportunities are offered during the course
of each school year on topics ranging from "Preparing for College"
to "How to Read to Your Kindergartner". Look for fliers and
announcements.
